Attached is a new FAA policy memo with a deviation to FAA Order 8110.37. This deviation removes the responsibility for RS-DER’s to coordinate with the Repair Station Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) before approving data. The FAA has determined this coordination is not the responsibility of RS-DERs but the responsibility of repair stations to ensure they are not accomplishing repairs for which they are not rated.
AeroTech is in full support of this deviation. This will result in faster RS approvals for repair stations who are performing routine repairs.
